There Is No One Else On The Road – Seize Your Chance

I have nowhere else to be right now except my car; the alternative is just way worse. So I’ve been “sheltering in place” within the confines of a Silver Nissan Juke. And it hasn’t been a bad deal. I’ve got power for the laptop. The temperature is always just what I want. I can have almost any audio I desire – if any.

But I am honestly amazed at the lack of cars on the road. It sort of makes me proud to see the country actually work together on something. (She says as she ignores it completely.) And because there is no one on the road another amazing thing has happened: people are driving the speed limit.

It’s almost as though without the inherent competition literally racing them to their destination we have all chilled out and gone a little slower. Don’t get me wrong, there are those people that swerve and rev and take advantage, but much like the shelter-in-place order, most comply.

It was during my drive tonight, alone on the roads that I realized that without the competition literally breathing down your neck this is a great chance to excel. Without the confines of Sally and her tuna salad sandwich that she eats everyday at 2 what would finally get done? What thing have you been putting off?

Don’t worry about the competition! Everyone is in the same boat right now. The real question is: where will you be when everything returns to normal? Seize your chance. Go for it.
